Quantifying Benefits Enables GSI Planning

Green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) delivers far more than stormwater management—it can enhance communities, restore habitats, and strengthen local economies. Yet these co-benefits are often undervalued and/or not well understood. Demonstrating the full value of GSI can build support for programs and investments that deliver multiple benefits.

The GSI Impact Hub

One Water Econ partnered with The Nature Conservancy and the Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange to create the GSI Impact Hub – a centralized resource that helps stormwater planners and decision-makers understand the benefits of GSI in local contexts. The Hub includes five resource guides and an interactive benefits calculator, enabling users to quantify the costs and co-benefits of GSI projects, design projects that achieve desired co-benefits, and leverage partnerships and funding opportunities.
